Relief and Recovery

Anecdotal evidence and situation reports indicate that households who are landless and/or living in crowded spaces within informal/non-formal settlements have been most severely impacted by the pandemic in terms of job loss, income reduction, decrease in access to daily commodities and services, rise in food insecurity, and increase in social and mental health concerns. Sukumbasi households are also less likely to receive and/or benefit from relief support from the government and non-governmental organizations. SPOSH always plays a crucial role in coordinating the relief and recovery support directly to the unit level communities in coordination with national and international donors as well as individuals.
